Well, Hello There

Well, hello there! Thanks for stopping by to read my ramblings. I hope you find some amusing, perhaps inspiring or at least a good 'waste of time'.

Brr, Baby It's Cold Outside!

The song lurks in the shadows of my mind, tinkling it's familiar melody as I envision snow, fires, warm blankets, and mugs of hot cocoa.  It's awfully cold, and my toes long for the warmth of fuzzy socks or being tangled in my husband's feet as I am lulled to sleep by the tune in my head.

There is no snow on the ground for the kids to play in, no flakes falling gracefully to the ground nor are there flurries flittering about in the air.  We tend to only get snow a couple of times during the coldest part of the winter months but goodness if there were this cold earlier today, as a cold misty rain fell, we would have seen those long anticipated flurries, of that I'm sure.  Tomorrow it will be in the twenties - shall I say it again?  Brr.  I adore the snow - watching the kids sled, make snowmen, perfect the art of snow angels and just having fun until it becomes a slushy mess, until we tire out, or get too cold - whichever comes first.

Hopefully this Christmas Season we will get to see some snow.  The kids would love it, and it would be an awesome 'gift' for them to awake to presents and snow.  I'm not sure which they would dart for first...probably the snow.  They don't really ask for much.  Their lists consisted of only three things each, and one was a family gift:  a new dog.  So, while our toes may be a freezin' let's enjoy the gifts God gives us this Christmas Season.  And if there's no snow, that's okay we could always make mud angels...
