Today is April Fool's Day, and Hot Rod is constantly saying "April Fools!" He says, "Oh no, Princess, the wii remote is broken!" She looks, then he blurts "April Fools!" Laughs maniacally, as if he's told the best joke of his life, and then putters off to do something else. He wants so badly to be funny, but usually the jokes aren't but as a mom we smile and laugh anyway.
Princess, meanwhile, is playing dress up. She found a beaded bracelet and said "Mommy, I think this is a God bracelet." I watched her trying to figure out what she was meaning by a 'God bracelet' and as I watch she moves from one bead to the next and utters these words: "Hey God. Hey Jesus. Yes God. Yes Jesus." I laughed, as I realize what she thought it was, and watched her own version of the Rosary. "Princess, honey that's not a Rosary, that's just a beaded bracelet." "Huh! I thought this was a God Rosary bracelet!" So she whips it off, puts it back into her container of dress up clothes and packs it away - if it's not what she wants it to be, then I guess it's not good enough.
As I tap-tap-tap away, with Gigi the dog next to me asleep, I look over and find her watching me even while she sleeps. I think she's spoiled, and if it were possible, I'm certain she would like to permanently bond herself to me in some way. I have never met a more clingy dog than her, good thing she's cute! But I do admit the way she opens her eye just enough to check up on me is a little strange.
